Don't take this the wrong way, but you're pretty replaceable. When it comes to your body, science has figured out how to hack, synthesize, or replace a surprising amount of its parts and processes. We have implants to keep heart beats steady, and steel rods to mimic bones. We've got drugs that can replace hormones, and antibiotics to cover for your immune system, and pretty soon you'll be able to just 3D print a new ear if you need one. Really! But one thing we absolutely cannot manufacture despite what True Blood would have you believe is blood. And yet blood is a thing that we all need.
And sometimes, because of injury or illness, we need extra blood. In fact, every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs a blood transfusion. This could be a victim of a car accident, someone undergoing surgery, or a cancer patient who needs new blood to maintain their health during chemotherapy. And because we can't grow it on trees, or make it in a lab, or even it store it for all that long, the blood that people need nearly 16 million pints a year in the U.S. has to come from people who have donated it. So let's talk blood, shall we?.
What to Expect in Phlebotomy School
Hi I'm Elora Murray and welcome to the Phlebotomy Training News Network. Potential phlebotomy students often wonder what to expect in phlebotomy training. Well today we are highlighting some things a student can expect to learn in phlebotomy classes. Phlebotomy training programs can be completed in as little as three weeks. These classes include a mix of lectures and handson experience. To add, phlebotomy students perform over 50 venipuncture's while training. Students and instructors often have their blood drawn by other students as part of their training. Not only that but students are also trained.
In the use of microscrope's and centrifuges, as well as safety precautions. Also, students are educated on laboratory processes, therapeutic drug monitoring and other potential career applications for phlebotomy. Certification exams are provided by the ASCP, NHA and other organizations. In California, potential phlebotomists must also complete a 40 hour externship. Hopefully now you better understand what to expect in Phlebotomy training. For the Phlebotomy Training News Network. I'm Elora Murray. Thanks for joining us.

Having the certificate makes it so possible to get a job because of the nature of this certificate that is highly in need. What surprised me the most at the top of the list was how much I learned. When I started out before these four classes, I knew very little and now at the end, the number of languages that I am able to program in is increased by at least a half a dozen. The number of frameworks that I'm familiar with, I've learned to be able to develop applications for Android, for the iPhone, for iPad, for Web, and applications that will work across all of those. I was very interested in becoming a web developer and especially mobile and iPhone developer.
And I found this program satisfies all those needs. I wanted to work in developing applications that had a customer or a user interface associated with them. And this studio program definitely helped with that. It helped when I was doing my job search and in my job interviews because the perspective employers would ask me, have you ever worked with any of these technologies, and 9 times out of 10 because of these classes I could say, yes I had worked in those and I had developed applications. You can always read the book and use all the resources that there are, but still there is a secret sauce that no book is telling you and they're telling us in these classes. Especially in my web application class.
